"The prodigy is simply a more extreme version of a gifted child, able to perform at an adult level while still a child. These children are often creative in the "little c" sense - that is, they discover the rules and technical skills of their domain on their own, with minimum adult scaffolding, and often invent unusual strategies by which to solve problems. While children can be creative in this sense, they are rarely if ever creative in the "big C" sense. By this I mean stretching, altering, or even transforming a domain."
