Knowledge:

Subjectively, my approach to knowledge is quite similar to my approach to art. In art — whether films, music, images or writings — it is those works that do not or hardly lose their appeal, that even gain appeal over time, that are experienced by me as “artworks”; precisely by virtue of the duration of these stimuli (i.e. that these stimuli are experienced as valuable over long stretches of time). Analogously, my approach to knowledge is that in books one finds passages, areas or ideas that — even upon repeated engagement or deepening — retain their appeal, perhaps even increase in appeal. This is my approach to knowledge: to track down such passages in books, yes, to “fall in love” with these contents, to enjoy the life that springs from engagement with interesting content.
