Sucht:

Television and Sex:

Before 1970 extramarital sex had to be justified by a loving relationship, if it was justified at all. During the next two decades, recreational sex was presented as acceptable about six times as often as it was rejected. In the 1990s, hardly anyone ever argues against having sex for any reason.

g and Psychology:

"g is to psychology what carbon is to chemistry."
Dictum of the London School

The Human Condition and g:

The human condition in all of its aspects cannot be adequately described or understood in a scientific sense without taking into account the powerful explanatory role of the g factor. Students in all branches of the behavioural and social sciences, as well as students of human biology and evolution, need to grasp the essential psychometric meaning of g, its basis in genetics and brain physiology, and its broad social significance.

Male Mate Choice:

Paternal Investment leads to the prediction that men will be selective in their mate choices (Trivers, 1972), and this is the case. Men's mate choices are influenced by fertility cues (e.g., age), as well as by indicators of woman's social and maternal competence (Geary, 1998).

Intelligence and Working Memory:

Central characteristics of highly intelligent people are their ability to represent more information in working memory than other people and their enhanced ability to consciously manipulate this information.
