The tension, the interplay between two different wills, personalities, and ways of being.
This is the core of a relationship:
You love the tension, the interplay, with one particular person.
You feel a very distinct longing for that tension, for the experience of a particular counterpart against whom you must bring your own desires, against whom you must assert your own will, but whose will you must also learn to accommodate and respond to.
A relationship lives from this dynamic balance: the meeting of two separate centers of intention, neither fully yielding to the other, yet neither remaining untouched by the other. Through this polarity, attraction, growth, conflict, and intimacy arise.
